Electric drain cleaning utilizes a steel cable with various attachments fastened to the end being fed into a cleanout or access point in a drainage system by means of an electric motor and drum assembly operating at high RPMs. Its primary function is to cut away or grab and remove a blockage in order to relieve a “backed up” drainage fixture.
